Charities
Charity projects involve quilts or specifically quilt-related materials (books, supplies, etc.). Over the course of the year the Guild will dedicate some of the workshop days as a Charity Workshop Day. Members will donate their time working on quilting projects for the benefit of charities within the community.
Members generously donate at monthly meeting and workshops food items for the Food Bank. They diligently collect, box tops, and pull tabs. Every little bit benefits someone. And any effort is most graciously appreciated!
The Guild on occasion will make a monetary donation to a charity. If a member would like to bring forward the name of a charity to be considered the process for recommending a charity is outlined in the bylaws, it is also addressed under FAQ's.
The Colorado River Quilters' Guild donates to a wide-range of organizations. Quilts are often donated to the hospital for cancer and kidney patients as well newborns and their mother's. The Guild has supported the Pregnancy Center, Tri-State Military Moms, Davis House Center, River Valley Golf Club and many other organizations to name a few.
