Often both old and new members have questions regarding various aspects of the Guild. It is our hope that we address questions as they arise. In the event that an appropriate answer to a question is not found please feel free to contact a Board Member (see Board Member contact info under "About CRQ")
How do I go about getting the Colorado River Quilters' Guild to donate to a charity?
Members may make proposals for philanthropic donations. Proposals need to be written and presented to the Executive Board for review prior to presentation at a General Meeting for vote by written ballot.
What is the Intra-Guild?
The Intra-Guild falls under the auspices of the Colorado River Quilter's Guild. Throughout the year, members participating in Intra-Guild projects, do so outside of the scheduled monthly workshops. A member may or may not participate in any given project. For more details see the Intra-Guild Chair.
How do I find out about a workshop?
Information regarding workshops and Intra-Guild projects will be made available to members by way of emails, monthly meeting and/or website. While every effort is made to let each and every member know what is on the horizon, members are encourage to read Meeting Minutes to keep abreast of the happenings within the Guild.
What do I need to bring to a Workshop?
Members provide their own machines, personal sewing equipment needed to quilt (i.e. rotary cutters, threads, rulers, scissors, marking tools, etc.). Many members will bring their own rulers, mats, extension cords, and travel irons with ironing surface. The Guild has on site, in limited quantities, mats, ironing boards, irons, and extension cords. A material list is sent out to members via email prior to a project, it is the responsibility of a member to bring the appropriate items to work with.
Does the Colorado River Quilters ever bring outside workshop presenters?
The Guild's goal at the moment is to have three outside presenters in a calendar year. Bringing in presenters from outside have costs associated that need to fall within what the group can bear financially. If you go to Calendar of Events on the menu bar you will find a subtitle that lists workshops within the area that are offering Guest Presenters or Classes that may be of interest.
How does a business get info onto your website? (for eg. we are offering classes, we have a big sale on fabric, we are having a trunk show, quilt show etc.)
How frequently does the Colorado River Quilters' Guild have a Quilt Show?
Is there a deadline for getting my dues in?
Annual dues (June 1st to May 31st) are $20.00.
Can anyone vote at a General Meeting?
Voting members are current members who have paid their dues for the current fiscal year.
